I'd have to be able to see where you are, but I wouldn't have to be nearby your body.

I'll be honest, it's hard to offer a guarantee when we don't know what the cause is.

But I've gotten out of some tough spots before. And you might be surprised by how many people have offered to help.

Well, you're right about that.
The turnout is surprising.

Everyone's abilities are so varied that I'm fairly certain someone among us can give you a passable disguise.
And you likely have some skills of your own that will help you if things don't go as planned, don't you?

I've been in a scrap or two. And I've been told I've got a hard head, it's why I figured I'd volunteer.

Yes... and no. I'm not sure if "interesting" is the word for it.

Those beasts that come at night— have you seen them?
I captured one along with someone else. It was sick, like villagers.

I haven't seen them up close, but I can't say I'm too surprised either.

The mention of them brings Anakin's brows together, not in confusion because in his gut he can't say he's surprised that they're sick as well. But because he doesn't understand how this fits into the bigger picture. He's seen bioterrorism at work and while he doesn't recognize those signs and signals here, there's just enough evidence being dug up to suggest intelligent involvement. A person might not be the cause, but they haven't been helping either.]

When we first got here I noticed even some of the plant life looks like its rotting. Whatever's causing this sickness, I think it's equal opportunity.


What did you do with it by the way?

We left it there. It died very quickly from its illness.
Based on what I saw, the illness doesn't originate from the animals, so bringing it back to town to be studied as I originally planned would have been a waste, anyway.

It's wise for all of us to try and minimize contact with anything infected, anyway.
You haven't caught it yourself, have you?

I can feel something. But I'm a little hardier than most so to be honest, I don't know if it's because I haven't been in direct contact with whatever it is, or if I've just got an unfair advantage.

I know how it sounds, but if a bunch of us are exploring different parts of the town, figuring out whoever comes back sickest will probably give us a line on where ground zero is.

Trial and error isn't exactly how I'd prefer to do things.
But I don't suppose we have any qualified medical professionals among us to figure it out for us, otherwise...
Unless you know of someone aboard that I don't.

No. Plenty of combatants, but not any medics.
I know making assumptions isn't in our best interest, but it's hard not to draw a few conclusions from that.

You think the mastermind purposefully kept medics from coming aboard?
That's an interesting theory. And a plausible one, at that.

I'm of the opinion that these cars must be some sort of selection process.
If that's true, I'd assume them keeping first aid from us is meant to be another way to whittle us down.

Mostly I just noticed all the combatants. There are people here with all kinds of powerful abilities.

Maybe it's our experience that made us worth taking.
